Project Description

Albert Island will be the first new shipyard on the Thames for over a century in London Borough of Newham. The project form part of the Albert Island, London & Regional’s 25-acre, £300m industrial regeneration scheme in the Royal Docks.

DFC has been appointed by the client, London and Regional Properties to undertake the masterplan design for the site-wide fire strategy from planning through to construction. This will include fire safety engineering with an onus on safety and future proofing of the development for both life safety and property protection. The project includes a new marina, boatyard and passenger pier, double-storey distribution warehouses, and the Ideas Factory – flexible industrial and educational uses including an engineering hub and commercial buildings.
