This summer is the first year we have offered internships at DFC and we are pleased to welcome Anna Boström to our team. Anna will be joining us until September to experience life as a fire engineer first-hand.
We are committed to encouraging more young people to pursue careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) based roles, and as an engineering consultancy this is hopefully the first of many steps that we can offer to make a difference.
Anna is approaching the final year of her of Masters degree in Civil Engineering from The University of Edinburgh, which includes modules in fire safety engineering. Anna is well travelled already; originating from Sweden not only is she studying in Edinburgh but has previously interned in Croatia and the UK, and has spent time at McGill University in Montreal, Canada as part of a third-year exchange programme.
Anna has already settled in well and has been working on live-projects and shadowing several members of the team to design team workshops and meetings. We hope that we can offer Anna a glimpse into a career in engineering and hope she considers being a full-time fire engineer post-graduation!
For future intern enquiries, please submit your CV, a covering letter and details of your academic studies to firstname.lastname@example.org. Our 2018 intake is closed, but we will be considering applications for Summer 2019 in the coming months.
