Last week Matthew Eyre received some welcome news from the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE): he was accepted as a Chartered Engineer. Congratulations Matt and it is well deserved.
This is not Matthew’s first time achieving chartered status. Having started his career in Australia, Matthew was awarded Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status by Engineers Australia in 2015.
Matthew had this to say:
After a year long process I was not sure how my final interview went but my partner clearly had more faith than I did because she printed a congratulations card before my interview date”!
Matthew joins six other Chartered Engineers at DFC, bringing the total to seven. Several others have their applications in process. DFC encourages not just its own staff but all those in the industry to seek the appropriate professional recognition.
DFC actively contributes to the development of the fire engineering industry and to the IFE, with staff members contributing to reviewing chartership applications and conducting chartered interviews, among other activities.
