Project Description

The Curve is a new civic and cultural building located in the centre of Slough. It combines a library, adult learning, local museum, marriage registrars’ services, exhibition and performance spaces. The building is a significant part of the ongoing redevelopment of Slough and improvement of the public realm.

DFC was appointed by Morgan Sindall to develop the fire strategy for The Curve from early concept through to the building completion. A primary challenge of the strategy included the assessment and mitigation of heat radiation from the complex multi-direction curved façade, to the adjacent historic St Ethelbert’s Church, demonstrating the prevention of fire spread.
