DFC has been appointed to deliver the fire strategy for No.2 Whitehall Riverside in Leeds, one of a number of buildings that form the redevelopment of the land between Whitehall Road and the River Aire, and sits within the designated ‘City Centre Prime Office Quarter’.
The 8-storey building provides 150,000sqft of office accommodation, and contains a full height atrium connecting all floors – a key aspect that influences the development of the fire strategy. Predicting the likely behaviour of smoke within the space subsequently informs both the means of escape and fire-fighting strategy for an incident within the building.
Adjoining the office building is a 9-storey car park, linked to the office building by way of a shared basement.
