Project Description
3 St. Peter’s Square development is a new build 20-storeys building in the heart of Manchester city centre, upon completion the building will be occupied by Motel One (hotel) 328-bedroom and StayCity Wilde Aparthotels, 256-studio apartments style.
The architectural aspiration was for a highly glazed elevation along the Ground Floor which presented an external fire spread issue across an existing narrow road. Our thermal radiation assessment enabled a much larger percentage of glazing than fire safety guidance would typically allow.
Further work involved enabling open plan apartments by adopting a hob suppression system, maximising occupant load for amenity floors and rationalising the provision for basement smoke exhaust.
