Project Description
‘The Met’ is a performing arts venue in Bury, Greater Manchester, originally opened in 1980 and is currently undergoing a refurbishment.
The refurbishment involves an increase in the theatre capacity, the removal of an escape stair currently shared with the adjacent building (Athanaeum House) and the reconfiguration of the bar, foyer and entrance lobby areas.
DFC have developed a means of escape strategy for the theatre using the existing exits that increases the building capacity to the desired levels and avoids the installation of a second external stair to the rear of the building.
