Project Description

DFC developed the fire strategy for Building Regulations compliance for this major renovation to a pharmaceutical packing and storage facility. The existing facility contained sprinklers, automatic detection and alarm and smoke control systems. The systems did not necessarily comply with modern standards, and it was unknown why they were historically installed. Therefore, DFC developed a new building regulations strategy that minimised reliance on active systems;  allowing the client the flexibility to upgrade active systems at their discretion. The final design was tailored to minimise the need to escape between predefined security and environmental zones within the building.
